What is something you’ve learned from being a military spouse? I strongly feel that having prior se rvice experience and being a veteran has prepared me more so to be an understanding military spouse. However, being a military spouse is different from being that soldier and what I have learned the most is, that it takes a lot of strong will to be a more independent person especially as a parent.

In your opinion, what is one of the most important issues facing military families? From volunteering along side our Military Family Readiness Support Coordinator, I personally feel that not being prepared for deployment/activation orders and the struggle of family reintegration are some key issues facing military families.

What is one of the best aspects of being in a military family? Only one-lol. So many to choose! The biggest and best aspect of being in a military family, is knowing and getting to understand our loved ones daily contributions to their own families as well as our country!

What is one thing you want to accomplish with the Military Spouse of the Year title? As a Military Spouse of the Year I would continue to broaden the knowledge and importance of military family preparedness and help coach military families on creating varies Home Management Kits. As well, I will bring forth knowledge of various workshops that our Family Readiness Support Coordinator (Hilary DeLaRosa) are in the process of bringing forth. These workshops are everything from personality class-to the hot topic of MST/Military Sexual Trauma-to Wellness and Mindfulness etc. I would be honored to have more military families and soldiers/Veterans be able to learn about our programs globally, as they are the background guide to further Military Family Preparedness.

A woman who knows what she wants out of life and isn't afraid to work hard to make things happen. She is an extremely strong-willed individual who will stand up for what is right even if doing it alone. She also at the same time possesses a compassionate and caring heart.
