About the nominee: I am currently 32 years old and I have three beautiful girls, 6, 3, and 7 months. I am from Minnesota but went to college at USF! I am married to the most amazing man in the entire world. We have known each other for 29 years. We will have been married for 10 years this April.
Hobbies: Honestly, my hobbies are my family. I am currently getting a medical coding and billing certificate. I do homestudies for kinship families currently too. I love to sneak an episode of a reality television show. If it’s a reality show, you name it, it’s probably on my DVR. I honestly just spend all of my time with my children right most we stay extremely busy. Oh and I clean too...is that a hobby? 😬 we also just got a puppy. That has been a whole new hobby.
Interesting Facts: I wish watermelon was in season all year round. Also, this whole thing was done behind my back but I love them for thinking of me!
What is something you’ve learned from being a military spouse? Oh man, what haven’t I learned? I have learned patience, durability, how to genuinely be supportive. I have learned how to have friends as family and long distance friendships. I have learned how to trust.
In your opinion, what is one of the most important issues facing military families? I just posted about this, I think it is most difficult on the young children, so far for me. I would say the frequency of deployments but that will never change.
What is one of the best aspects of being in a military family? Our love for each other is strong no matter what the distance is. I have also met the most amazing friends that I now call my family!
What is one thing you want to accomplish with the Military Spouse of the Year title? Well I would start with continuing the collaboration to help young children through deployments.

Mother of 3 young girls who is constantly on the move. Her Husband is constantly deployed. -- Christopher Post, Friend
Heather is one of the most loving and caring people in this world . She takes care of her beautiful girls and is always positive putting everyone else first before her . Heather has had to say goodbye too often to her husband but she always stays positive. Heather has had to move multiple times , spent many holidays away from her husband ,experience pregnancy without her husband and at times raise kids without her husband and she does it all so amazing . John is an amazing husband and being away from his wife and kids I can't even imagine but I know it makes it easier on him knowing the woman he married will always be there for him at home reminding the kids how much their daddy misses and loves them . Heather is a warrior and deserves to be shown that all her friends and family love her and that we may never understand what she has to go through being married to a man in the army but I'm hoping this helps her know how much we all love her and only hope the best for her and have John to always come home safe for her and the girls . -- Sarah , Friend
Heather is the definition of grace and class and has always faces the challenges life has thrown at her head on. She’s raising three beautiful little angels several states away from all of her and John’s family and manages to accomplish everything life throws her way on a daily basis. She’s someone I look up to, admire and I hope I can aspire to be half of the mother and wife she already is. You are amazing inside and out, Heather! -- Jodie Ballis, Friend
Heather once called me a Supermom, but she is the true Supermom. She takes care of 3 young and beautiful girls and most recently a dog by herself when her husband is deployed. She works hard for her girls to get them to school, activities and to have fun even when it physically hurts to miss Dad. She is the strongest person I know as she watches her husband board a plane while holding her girls tight. Every time I think about those moments, I am in tears. But, Heather is brave and strong and a true Supermom! -- Jennifer Budd, Friend
She is a dedicated mom to three little girls. Her husband John has been deployed multiple times in their marriage. She is always happy to move, change jobs, find new schools and start over. She does whatever is best for the country and him. She keeps her girls in contact with him while he is gone and she does a great job being both mom and dad! -- Nikki Giel, Friend
To bring a little joy to Heather during this hard time while John is deployed! Also to recognize her for being such a great momma and wife while John is away! -- Kristina Dunn, Friend
My sister and her husband have been dating since they were in sixth grade. When John joined the Army, my sister didn’t bat an eye. She was his ride or die, that was it. Well, fast forward several years, and now John’s on his third tour (currently in Bah Rang) and they just welcomed their third little girl last June. Oh, did I mention she is a social worker in El Paso? So, she not only supports her three girls while living over 3,000 miles from the nearest family member, but she also fosters children all around Texas. I am genuinely honored to know her, to have her as a sister, and for me to share her story with you. There’s plenty more to the story, I’d love to share! -- Andrea White, Family
Heather is a selfless social worker and mother of 3 under 6 who is holding down the fort while her husband is deployed. -- Tara Gardell, Family
Heather is the mother of 3 young girls, and often has to raise them with little to no help, and she is doing an incredible job! -- Erin , Friend
Heather is a fantastic wife to John, supporting him throughout deployments while balancing their kiddos at home and the stressors of being a military spouse. She deserves it! -- Ashley Oteney, Friend
Heather has been an incredible military spouse for almost 10 years. Aside from being a great spouse, and having multiple moves and multiple spousal deployments, she is an incredible mother to 3 young girls ranging from 6 to under 1. All that while, she maintained a work, personal, and friendship balance. I can't think of anyone who would deserve this more! -- Anne Finnegan, Friend
