About the nominee: I am passionate about educating, empowering, and encouraging all women. I love being an Air Force wife, it has afforded me the opportunity to live so many places, travel to so many locations, and meet so many people from different walks of life. I have two beautiful children, daughter 16 and son 7. My husband and I have been married for 19 years. I am a legal assistant for Eielson AFB SJA. I love the Lord.

Hobbies: I love cooking, decorating, inspiring and dressing others.

Interesting Facts: Every time we have relocated and everytime my husband deploys I have taken a class ... like cake decorating to not only learn a skill and enhance my resume but to meet new ladies .

What is something you’ve learned from being a military spouse? I have learned to support my husband but at the same time never loose myself.

In your opinion, what is one of the most important issues facing military families? In my opinion the most important issue facing military families is deployments and the strain separation puts on a marriage and children.

What is one of the best aspects of being in a military family? The best aspect of being a military family is being able to travel, see parts of the world that most of our families neve r get to experience. I love that we get to learn an area and then move and start fresh every few years.

What is one thing you want to accomplish with the Military Spouse of the Year title? I want to heighten awareness for the military spouse. There are so many benefits and resources I wish I knew about 20 years ago that I'm sharing with spouses now. I would love to have the platform to tell as many military spouses as I can about all the many benefits allotted to us.

Excelled as 354 MXS key spouse in 2016; cemented spousal cohesion throughout unit by leading 5 key spouse socials, attended all key spouse trainings and monthly information sessions to gain info to share with spouses -Responsible for the management and administration of resources available to dependent spouses and children -Excellent Administrator! Founded/Launched Non-profit organization "Operation Diamond Boots" to educate, encourage, empower the Silent Heroes; the MILITARY SPOUSES. Supported Annual Operation Cookie Crunch; baked, packaged & delivered 20 dozen cookies--increased dorm resident morale 700+ airmen - Bolstered 354 WG's resiliency event: cooked 20lbs of chili, served 8 hours--fed 500+ airman - 354 MXS/AMXS squadron chili cookoff entrant - Compassionate giver; provided 70+ pot-luck dinners for single airmen, and families in need of assistance -Moved with compassion to serve; in response to death in family, health issues, and to welcome new babies prepared and delivered 20+ dinners for Air Force families that desired assistance -Liason with donors; collected $500 and created created 20 gift baskets for deployers spouses; -Spearheaded the development of Eielson Chapel's Women's Ministry; raised the average attendance from 2 to 80 women/wkly; sparked Spiritual Fitness; aided in social, spiritual, physical well-being of 200+ women/families; -Coached 8 monthly small group bible studies, and discussions groups; oversaw training prgm of 4 ldrs/12 facilitators, Orchestrated the development of 6 teams to execute quarterly women's event/celebration; created, shopped, decorated, organized, prepared awards, giveaways for 4 quarterly events--saved chapel $6K+ by donating Event Planner services; helped develop women’s praise and worship team, vol'd 100+ hrs quartely -Enthusiastic Leader! Presented 4 times self-worth seminars; helped 80+ women develop a sense of self worth -Phelamptry effort; aided Ben Eielson Jr/Sr High School AF JrROTC; personally raised $1200 to support -AF JrROTC fundraiser; chaperoned 12 students help develop teamwork skills; volunteered 30+ hrs to youth -Brilliant Cook--Steward $175 shopping budget, prepared, feeds 200+ attendees of Eielson AFB Chapel weekly -Selfless volunteer; contributed 12 hrs quarterly cleaning services for chapel, retore clean environment future use - Passionate about women body, mind, and soul!
